The Photo League of New York (1936-1951) was a non-profit organization of dedicated professional and amateur photographers - most of them New Yorkers and the majority Jewish, both male and female born between 1900 and 1925. They chronicled a tumultuous period in American history and endured both controversy and celebration. There story is told through text and their remarkable photographs.
