A pack of two 28-pin ZIF (zero insertion force) IC sockets. This is the
wider (0.6") version. See my other listings for the narrow (0.3")
version. Picture 4 shows both types for comparison only.
Pin pitch is a standard 0.1" (2.54mm).
Commonly used in testers, programmers and when designing any other hardware where the ICs need to be swapped regularly.
Also if you're wearing out (or have worn out) a standard socket then replacing with one of these would be a good idea.
No more bent pins or worn out sockets.
Easy to use - lift lever up to unlock, remove old IC, insert new IC and push lever back down again to lock. Simple!
Please
note that if you are going to use one of these to replace an existing
simple socket you need to check that there is enough clearance around
the existing socket for the extra size of the ZIF.
Should be open (lever up) when soldering into a board to obtain proper alignment.
