In view is a vintage Mitchell Slant Load/Inverted Film Magazine Model Number IID-127, serial number 56. Designed for use on the Mitchell S35R and S35R Mk II cameras, it allows the film magazine to be loaded on the camera’s rear or bottom magazine ports in addition to the standard position, depending on which model camera you use. In these positions it is at an angle beneath the camera allowing it to be hand held or shoulder mounted. A rubber cushion is installed to provide comfort when using these configurations.
This film magazine is in excellent usable condition. Built like a tank, it is strong, durable and resilient. Cosmetically it carries the marks of normal use and it’s vintage. There are marks on the crinkle finish paint and some minor paint loss. The mounting plate is scratched from use but the mounting claw is in perfect condition. The film covers are solid and remove easily if you have the proper tool or technique. Inside the film chamber is fabric covered. The fabric is in excellent condition, showing no wear or peeling away from the metal surfaces. The rubber rollers move freely in both directions. The film slot dust cover is included. Included, though not pictured, is a Kodak 35mm film spool.
