Please read carefully as I have tried to describe the piece to the fullest extent possible! (It must be a good description, since a couple other sellers with this limited edition piece have lifted this researched description verbatim for their listings!)  :-)

This piece has three elements: 1. a bronze bas relief, 2. a full color "Erte at 95" book that is signed, numbered, and bound in black leather, and  3. a presentation box which has protected its contents for nearly 30 years. The box has minor typical shelf wear as would be expected.

Erte Collectors Book: Erte at 95: The Complete New Graphics, The Extended Edition. Limited to 375 copies.

The Erte Bronze Rigoletto Bas Relief is silver, black and bronze with white gold leaf. "Rigoletto" was inspired by a costume design for the opera singer Ganna Walska as Gilda in a 1920 production of Rigoletto. This image was inspired by a gouache in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The Bas Relief is detachable from the book. The bronze bas relief has been attached to it with velcro. Simply pull the bronze sculpture from the sides evenly. You can display the bronze bas-relief sculpture, a real prize and very hard to find after all this time. Only 350 were made, as well as a small number of artist’s proofs and each is individually incised with its unique number in the bronze itself. The sculpture is just gorgeous.

The bronze bas relief has been specially finished with sealants that do not require any cleaning with cleaning agents. Use a soft cloth to bring up the luster or remove any dirt or fingerprints that may accumulate over time.

ERTÉ (1892-1990) Born Romain de Tirtoff in imperial St. Petersburg, Russia, Erté derived his pen name from the French pronunciation of his initials "R.T." Over a long and distinguished career, he had a major influence on the style and design of the 20th Century. The designs created by Erté during his life influenced not only the world of theater, film and fashion, but an entire art movement as well. The genius of the artist is evidenced by an enormous body of work that is considered among the most influential and unique of the 20th century. His achievements earned him the title "Father of Art Deco."
