To wind, middle crown in, turn clockwise till it resists, then stop, like any manual wind watch.
To set, pull out middle crown, then turn to set time. Minutes are the same, 00 at top, 30 at bottom, 15 and 45 in between.
Hours are very different. Midnight starts at 24, 6am is where 3o'clock would be, 12pm is where 6o'clock would be, 6pm is where 9o'clock would be. The hour hand only rotates once per day.
The lower crown is to turn the 'shifts' disc. That was how you kept track of your 4 hour shifts and breaks on ship. The shower looking markings at 15 mins and 45 mins indicate 4 minutes of radio silence so you could listen for SOS or other important transmissions
