This is a beautiful and simple medal that shows the traditional a traditional image of St Anthony holding the Christ Child.

St Anthony of Padua was born in Portugal in 1195 to a wealthy family. He turned his back on riches to become a poor Franciscan priest. He was known during his lifetime for his amazing preaching and miracles. His association with finding lost items comes from the story that after his death, one of his treasured prayer books was lost. After many prayers the book was returned by a young novice who had "borrowed" it. He was urged to bring it back by a vision of St Anthony scolding him for taking it!

The medal was cast in sterling silver from an antique medal in the Rosa Mystica Collection so it shows all the beauty and history of the original piece. It comes with a matching holy card in an organza gift bag, ready for gift-giving, and was made in the USA

St Anthony is the patron of
finding lost items,
against shipwreck,
amputees
