Please note that I have not increased my prices as others have, but I will have to soon as the cost of materials has doubled in recent months, grab them while they are still cheap.

Make your airgun more powerful and accurate by improving the hammer and main spring mechanism.
This hammer weight and spring guide is designed to fit "Crosman" series airguns:

  • Crosman 1377
  • Crosman 1322
  • Crosman 2240
  • Crosman 2250
  • Crosman 2260
  • Crosman 2289

About:

Spring guides help aid in a more repeatable mechanical operation of the hammer / main spring assembly which helps to improve overall shot-to-shot variation and consistency as your pellet exits the barrel. Please note, the higher the preload, the more power. Please check results before and after installation with the use of a chronograph to make sure you are within the power limit for your country!

We always aim to dispatched orders the very same day and are sent via Royal Mail 1st class. These Items are CNC made in the United Kingdom and feature high quality materials selected for both strength and corrosion resistance.

Item materials:

(Selected from the order form drop down box)

1) Brass guides approximate weights in grams

  • Selected for its corrosion resistance and ability to add weight to the spring guide.

  • 1mm Preload 4.20
  • 2mm Preload 4.40
  • 3mm Preload 4.64
  • 4mm Preload 4.83
  • 5mm Preload 4.98

2) Nylon guides (black)

  • Absorbs very little moisture and thus relied upon to keep its tolerances
  • Very low friction characteristics
  • These are not for adding weight like the brass alternatives we supply, but do offer a self lubricating property that helps mechanical operation of the bolt assembly and further improves shot to shot consistency.

Installation:

This item is to be used either at the front or rear of the hammer spring. Depending on which configuration you choose, will alter the type of performance you can expect.

  • Hammer weights "add weight" to the front of the hammer spring. This additional weight will effect the amount of time the valve stays open (these guides are made in brass for the extra weight the material provides).

  • Preloaded spring guides that are installed at the rear of the spring "add additional tension" to the hammer spring itself. By installing the guide this way, users can expect a faster lock time (time between pulling the trigger and the pellet leaving the muzzle) as well as an increase in power output. The higher the preload, the more tension on the hammer spring = more power.

Frequently Asked Question:

How do I know what preload I need?

Answer:

Airguns are often sold in (and adapted by the shooter) in a variety of ways. Making changes to the calibre, barrel length, pellet choice and many other attributes can alter the performance of your airgun. The only way to know what size preload you need is to test the results before and after installation with the use of a chronograph.

Some people want maximum power, some want a higher shot count, some want the best consistency.
  1. If you don't want to effect the power too much but do want better shot-to-shot consistency then go for the smallest (1mm) preload.
  2. If you want to get the most out of your airgun, consider buying the largest size, you can then use a file to reduce material on the preloaded portion of the guide and test as you go.
  3. If you have a custom spring and or require a larger preload than what's available in this listing, contact us and we will make a hammer weight / spring guide to your requirements.
