VINTAGE 1940s 1950's SEXY SLINKY LONG BLACK GOWN
JACKS OF HOLLYWOOD FAME

WE SPECIALIZE IN OLDER VINTAGE MOVIE WARDROBE AND HAVE THOUSANDS OF REAL MOVIE WORN ITEMS IN CURRENT INVENTORY!

This is a Fabulous Vintage Evening Gown / Dancer's Gown we are offering. It is done in a lovely black lightweight crepe or silk crepe - I am not sure which. It is very hard to show the detail to this gown as it is black! The gown has a sweetheart neckline with double caps over the shoulders to the long sleeves. The front has a woven design (over/under) down the center front I have tried showing in a picture that I have lightened up. The gown looks washed out because of the lightening, but it is a true black . The lower front skirt has 2 long insets of accordion pleating with a placket over them - it is absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately it was very hard to get a good picture of them. There is a small train to the gown and it is FULLY satin lined. The skirt is very full - beautiful for dancing! The long sleeves have ruffled cuffs with 3 small snaps as you can see in the picture. This lovely gown fastens with a back metal zipper.
This gown has a JACKS OF HOLLYWOOD label. One of the designers who worked for both WESTERN COSTUME COMPANY AND JACKS OF HOLLYWOOD was WILLIAM TRAVILLA, who designed for MARILYN MONROE and ANN SHERIDAN, among others.
This lovely Dress measures approximately 16" across the back shoulders; a 34" bust; 25" waist; 35" hip and is about 66" from the back neckline to the hem of the train.

NOTE: Some of the stitching needs reinforcing / restitched; here is some wear in the lining at the neckline; and the zipper needs to be restitched about 2" just below the neckline. REMEMBER THAT THIS IS A REAL PIECE OF MOVIE HISTORY and WAS WORN IN MORE THAN ONE PRODUCTION! Please keep in mind the AGE of this dress! This is a beautiful collectable and needs to be seen to be appreciated.
All of us at Hollywood Movie Costumes feel very fortunate in being able to bring to auction this fine piece of Hollywood History. All of the items we are putting up for auction were used in the Movies, T.V. or Theater.
