Brand new, official, original, genuine Concept2 item. For use with a PM5, PM4 or PM3, the Smartphone Cradle slides onto the top of the PM to provide a place to set your mobile device while using the RowErg, SkiErg or BikeErg. The cradle will hold phones of virtually all lengths and the adjustable arm can hold phones as narrow as 5.7cm (2.25 inches) in width and can stretch open to 8.9cm (3.5 inches) in width. To check out the size of your smartphone, head to phonearena.com/phones/size and search for it. It will show the dimensions of your phone. Very, very few phones are narrower than 5.7cm or wider than 8.9cm.

Although Concept2 state that the holder accommodates models such as the iPhone 7+ (and by extension, models such as the S22 Ultra and iPhone 13 Pro Max), with or without a case, some owners of these models have stated that they have had to remove their case for it to fit.

If you have a PM3 or PM4 and wish to connect your Android device to ErgData, you will need a cable which connects your phone to the USB B port on the monitor. The Firmware will also need to be up to date. If you have an iPhone and wish to use it with a PM3 or 4, you need the iConnectCable, which cannot be purchased new but may be available used. If you're a PM5 user with an iPhone 4S or later or an Android device that supports Bluetooth Smart (the vast majority of them), you can connect your device to ErgData via Bluetooth with no need for an extra cable.

I have used mobile phones with the ErgData app as shown in the image (look it up on the App Store or Play Store if you haven't used it) for all distances up to marathon and have found the extra data to be extremely useful.

There is another app called ErgZone (only works with the PM5) which is also worth a look.
