If the chlorine and pH are no longer correct, it can lead to diarrhea, ear and skin infections. Good chlorine and pH keeps harmful bacteria at bay: when the pH rises too high, the germicidal chlorine empties out of chlorine. Chlorine can also absorb so much nitrogen (from dirt, piss, sunscreen or sweat) or other organic matter in the pool. For this reason, it is best to constantly test the chlorine and pH levels - they can change each day depending on the pool usage. Keep your pH in the right range to keep your equipment and pool working properly. Its chlorine dissolves faster at low pH. High pH values make chlorine inactive.
