The journey of a lifetime and tales from a lifetime of journeys.
With the modest winnings from a TV game show, a £750 Kawasaki KLR 650 off of eBay Graham heads east with Mongolian intentions

Not the bragging adventurer, just an honest and compelling storyteller who won’t stop going places, and is always looking forward, even when he should perhaps, be staying put. From backpack to bicycle to motorcycle; mostly alone, sometimes with company, occasionally in love and generally wishing for the opposite. Witty opinionated, cut through the crap realist, occasionally misguided but usually aware of it.

On a bike, on a budget, wallowing in hardships, celebrating victories and always contemplating the consequence of decisions made; perhaps spending too long in his own company but preferring it to the alternative. Off the beaten track, beating the crowds but fearing the procession is not far behind.

A compulsive commitment-phoebe, serial traveller and optimistic cynic. Graham tells of his solo motorcycle journey with a uniquely refreshing, dry, cynical wit, this is a diary of the experiences, thoughts and reflections from inside the crash helmet.

Part life story, Graham’s narrative is full of light-hearted but insightful observations, anecdotes, occasional wisdom, life enhancing realizations and some questionable alcohol fuelled inspiration. All collected over a quarter century of travel on and off the road.

Written with an open honesty that will leave the reader wondering, like the rider if contentment is round the next corner and if it is will he find, recognize and appreciate it.  Graham acknowledges this lifestyle isn’t for everyone though it often generates a benign envy within the people who don’t care to look at the less glamorous side that lies beneath the surface of what appears to be freedom.

Therefore this book may or may not provoke a subconscious motivation to leave an unsatisfying reality to live a dream in the real world. However if it does, this book inadvertently works as a guidebook, a hand book, a map but untimely, a sincerely amusing account of what you could possible experience should you, like him ride east from England as far as you can and then a bit more.
