OVERVIEW

The Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 is a touring, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles.

The tire promotes great all weather traction. The detailed symmetric tread pattern design works together with the all season tire compound to increase the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The special tire compound maintains the rubber flexibility in various conditions, while the tread elements increase the number of biting edges firmly gripping the road surface. The tread’s circumferential grooves help prevent hydroplaning. They disperse water and slush from below the footprint and improve the all weather road gripping capability. This combination ensures an excellent year round driving safety.

The model manages to lower its rolling resistance. It optimizes its tread design and tire compound to lower the pressure affecting the model throughout its performance. As the driving pressure is eased off the tire and its traction is improved, the model is able to reduce its rolling resistance. The rolling resistance is the external pressure that determines the amount of energy the vehicle needs to keep the tires in motion. This significantly decreases the vehicle’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, guaranteeing a fuel and environmentally conscious performance.

The model’s constant road contact enhances the driver’s control over the vehicle. The symmetric tread design’s flat footprint keeps the tire’s contact with the road surface at all times, which enhances the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. As a result, the steering becomes faster and more precise in its response to the driver’s commands, while the structure is stabilized during the drive. The vehicle’s controllability is further improved with the tread design’s detailed siping pattern. This pattern creates friction between the tire and the road surface to boost the braking capability and shorten the braking distance. This ensures the driver’s full control over the vehicle in all weather conditions.

The Ecopia EP150 offers a quiet drive. The tread design’s closed shoulder pattern and its variable pitch sequence greatly decrease the road noise levels heard in the vehicle’s cabin. The closed shoulder pattern prevents airwaves from entering the footprint and coming into contact with the tread element. The airwaves that do manage to form soundwaves, however, are negated with the pitch sequence’s sound-cancelling frequency. This decreases the road and tread pattern noise generated while the tires are in motion, providing a quiet and comfortable driving experience.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
