Original Overland Cigar Box Label - Perfect Condition Never Used.

Samuel Stillman  Pierce owned a chain of stores throughout New England with a reputation for all sorts of delicacies  He opened his first store in Boston in 1831 on the corner of Tremont Street.  He started out trading his products to the nearby ships docked in Boston Harbor and exchanging them for more exotic items from foreign countries. He decided to private label many of the items he carried, including tobacco products. He had these labels produced between 1880 and 1920 using a new lithographic process known for its bright and crisp colors.  He expanded into new markets by shipping across the country using the ever expanding train lines.
The SS Pierce brand became linked with high quality and variety.

This art print measures 10 inches wide by 7 12 inches high and would look great framed in either a cigar lovers office or den. The label is actually embossed, giving a 3 dimensional look and showing that it is an original print and not a reproduction.
