GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
For fall sowing, no stratification needed. For spring planting, a 60 day cold stratification is needed to break the seeds' dormancy. Colorado Blue Columbine grows well in partial to full shade. Sow the seeds directly outdoors in fall or spring at a depth of 1/8 inch in well-draining soil. Space the plants 12-18 inches apart, with 18-24 inches between rows. Keep the soil consistently moist during the germination period, which typically takes 21-28 days. These plants are relatively low maintenance and thrive in cooler climates.
