Calochortus gunnisonii is typically a larger member of the genus. The bell-shaped flowers have three petals rounded white and are rarely pink magenta, or pale yellow. The 3 sepals are narrow and pointed with a green color. In the bowl is a ring of fine yellow hairs and a circular band of purple. Zones 3-7.

Germination

Mix seeds and moistened soil together in a ziplock bag. Write the name on the bag. Place in the refrigerator for 60 days. Sow seeds into a well-drained, sandy compost and cover seeds to their own depth with sand or grit. Place the seed tray in bright light and keep moist. Seeds may germinate slowly.
