Although inscribed "NOËL 2018", this is not your usual Christmas stamp issue of Religious Paintings, Churches, or gifts under Christmas Trees !

This is a brilliant and unique issue, a self-adhesive set printed on transparent (clear) foil paper, each stamp 31.5mm x 40mm. The CLEAR paper suggests that the stamps take on the color of the envelope to which they are affixed. 

The simple and delightful designs have interesting winter and seasonal elements, rather than Santa Claus, with his sled and team of reindeer.  

The stamps show "MR. WINTER JOY" and "MRS. ICE CRYSTAL" - featuring (on the 70c stamp) a snowman, pine cones, antlers, colored bows, berries, and gingerbread cookies, and (on the 95c value) poinsettias, icicles, jewelry, and stars.  The 70c block has pine cones and berries in the margins, the 95c block has poinsettias.

The special, beautifully-produced Christmas card (blank on reverse) is postmarked on the first day of issue - 4 December 2018. Eyecatching !
