Beautifully sculpted 4 lb. prehistoric Paleo-American Onyx rock art hand tool. Ground, smoothed, and polished, this lovely implement is simply a marvelous example of ancient craftsmanship. Various hand intrusions and wear patterns suggest it was a hammer or crushing tool. Found "as is" near the Columbia River Gorge at Troutdale, Oregon. ( Note: A section of rock seems to have been intentionally removed almost as if it was milled or cut off; very unusual indeed!)
