75th anniversary at the International Postage Stamp Exchange BlueLakeStamps

(BK4-43    - shelf reference)

Very nice book. In German. Confirm yourself as I don't speak German!

From October 27 to 29, 2016, the DASV celebrated its 75th anniversary at the International Postage Stamp Exchange in Sindelfingen. For this reason, a high quality Festschrift is being published.

The DASV Festschrift contains the following articles:

A summary by Heinrich Mimberg gives an insight into the exciting history of the club . From the founding of the legendary “SAVO - International Association of Collectors of Pre-Philatelic Letters and Postal Documents” by Baron Anton Kumpf-Mikuli, to the end of the SAVO after the political balance of power in Austria changed. The SAVO, which had existed since 1933, dissolved in 1938. In summer 1941 the new "SAVO - Association of Old Letter Collectors" was founded in Königsberg. After World War II In Germany, the SAVO, founded in 1941, was no longer allowed to use this name for political reasons. With the approval of the occupation authorities, the " DASV - Deutscher Altbriefsammler-Verein " was created in 1947 .

Renate Springer , meanwhile more than 50 years member of the DASV, has summarized her experiences and experiences with the DASV and the respective presidents. The DASV editors have created portraits of the previous DASV chairmen and presidents. With another contribution, "Women in Philately", Ms. Springer shows the path of the female gender in the male-dominated society of postal historians.

Hans Joachim Büll describes the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the unexpected but long-awaited reunification from the point of view of an East German philatelist who had previously been in contact with the DASV for years.

The second part of the Festschrift contains interesting and exciting contributions to German and international postal history.

The current DASV President Klaus Weis is concerned with the "introduction of local posting stamps on Baden terrain" .

The “American Postal Expedition in Hamburg” is the focus of a duo of authors: Heinrich Mimberg describes the history and presents documents of this over 200 year old postal facility. Dr. Heinrich Conzelmann vividly describes the activities of this private postal facility and its activities in the early transatlantic traffic between the old and new world around 1800 until the Hamburg City Post Office took over the "Post Office of America".

Karsten Wildschütz describes the "exchange of correspondence from trading houses in Hamburg and Bordeaux and reports on ship transports".

Dr. Martin Camerer has compiled new “findings on the valuation of letters from the Old German States in the Papal States from the period 1824 - 1852”.

Arnim Knapp closes the festival book with a contribution about the "Mail transport from enclosed Paris during the Franco-German War 1870 to 1871 with the balloon mail to Saxony".

Any notes above this line are more specific to this auction generally outlining condition.

Generally, a disclaimer applied to all auctions.....

Stamps EXPECT faulty! Many nice stamps (unless noted above otherwise) but these are old albums and you should not expect all stamps to be fault free. I do not count stamps with a fault that I notice. Stamps are in mixed condition. I have viewed hundreds of albums. Comments are made based on my experiences and my not be reflective of the albums you have viewed. I do not look at many stamps closely....again expect faults!

Some stamp estimates are roughly fast counted estimates other numbers are simply a guess. Consider any count numbers only a guide......a ROUGH ESTIMATE... a GUESS.  Often I was doing two things at once so mistakes could have happened!

Albums - Expect faults. Expect shelf wear. I try to note. Some could be hidden (like loose pages). Some albums I sell are well over 100 years old. Some are like new. They vary!

I have tried to note any exceptions.

Generally, postage can be combined. I try to cover my costs and not make money on postage. Sometimes the combined postage saving is great....sometimes not so much, just depends on the material. Global shipping purchases cannot be combined.

If you notice extended shipping times it is due to conflicts I see that could cause a delay the day the auction closes.....work, travel, family, weather..... I try to ship within 24 hours of your payment. My default shipping is set at three days. Sometimes an unknown delay is unavoidable and I usually try to send a note. Do not expect weekend shipment. Basically, I ship VERY fast unless I cannot!

I only ship out of the United States using the eBay Global Shipping Program. I cannot get around it if you purchase and eBay does not ship to your location. I cannot send an invoice. I cannot cancel the transaction. I am locked out of the transaction until you pay. Please do not purchase if your country is not shipped to by eBay Global Shipping Program.  If your address is not shipped to by the program and you cannot change it to an acceptable address your order must be cancelled. Import or other charges that could be imposed by others are your responsibility and out of my control. Global Shipping Program purchases cannot be combined.

Everything sold as is. I am not able to accept returns. Please be sure the material and terms meet your needs.
