A really unusual item.  Unfortunately, I have no additional information about this print. It is quite obviously very old, but I do not have a date, only an educated guess based on my experience, I would place this from the 1870's.  I do not know where it was published.  There is not printing on the reverse, so it does not come from a magazine or periodical.  It is oversized, so perhaps is unlikely to be from a conventional book.  The right hand edge is slightly discoloured and shows signs of wear, indicating that it is from some kind of binding, but there is no evidence of this being removed as the other edge shows no signs of glue, stictchings or staples. It is indistinctly signed to the bottom right of the pointer, so I am unable to identify the artist.  The captions appear to be in French, which points to this being published on the continent.  But it is a really fascinating and mysterious antique print.

Condition

Excellent. Please see description above.  In addition a very smal tear exists the the bottom right corner, lever with the signpost, about 1" long, but this is easily repaored.  Paper is stable, but there is signs of "foxing" the the paper on the reverse, with a sew minor stains showing through.  All this has to be put in context with the items age..

Please note that this is NOT a blow up from a postcard, or a reprint, copy, computer-generated print or an inkjet/laser printer copy of the type you may well see offered elsewhere on eBay. It is a guaranteed commercially printed and professionally published fine art print.

Dispatch

Your item will be very carefully packed and posted to you in a proper stout postal tube, complete with plastic end caps. Your print will be wrapped in acid free tissue paper to protect it during transit and you will also receive a full page of hints and tips on how to look after your artwork, a full biography of the artist, illustrated with a photograph of the actual artist, an illustrated list of some other items I may have available on your breed.
