Presumed age: 1920s-1930s.
Old Senoufo bronze anklet, ethnic group located in the north of Ivory Coast.
Such ankle braces, called “tchotchoro”, were worn by young children who were slow to walk.
The sound of the bells punctuates the baby's steps, helping him to take his first steps.
Ancient piece of tribal use. Beautiful patina left by time.
