So what's a Zoom 508 ?
It's a revolution in sound. This pedal enables you to access your favourite Hank Marvin guitar sounds for your guitar. You just can't get HIS sound using a simple Boss DD7 delay pedal, you need a programmable 'double tap' delay, and that's what this provides. Straight out of the box from new the Zoom unit was a versatile multi function delay pedal, but a few clever people came up with program settings that match the delays and echoes used by Hank on many of his songs. The programming is a little complex and takes quite a while to input all the data, so we have already done that for you. Now, literally, just by plugging your guitar (preferably a Strat) into this then into your amp (say a Fender blues deluxe or Vox AC15) and hey presto instant Hank. You can then select various 'songs' on the Zoom (aka program patches) to subtly change your sound for different songs.
A print out of the detailed info on the exact delay time and functions have been included although this nitty gritty data really is like computer code, itis supplied just for reference.
To use the Zoom unit all you need to do is look on the song chart and pick a song eg "FBI" and next to that song name it will say "B1", just press the right hand footswitch on the Zoom several times until the display shows "B1". This is the "Program Number", it's a bit like selecting a TV channel. Now you have selected B1 you have a pretty good likeness of the echo sound that Hank used on the track FBI. It's not exact, but close, and a lot closer than you will achieve using some other pedals.
I will supply you with a print out with the appropriate Zoom program number for many many other Shadows and Hank songs.

Very good physical condition.
It is a used item and does have signs of use, some minor scratches, marks and other typical indications of having been used. The bottom of the unit is fairly clean, some scuffs and traces of rust.
On a unit of this age you will find that the edit, store, + and - buttons become a bit stiff or sticky with age, but we've given it a clean and it all seems to be working well. They are not exactly precision engineering anyway. Unless you are confident re-programming this unit I really wouldn't touch any of those buttons anyway !!

The Zoom 508 runs off a single 9 volt (PP3 type) battery (not supplied) or a 9 volt centre negative power supply (not supplied)
