North Star Beer, founded in 1855, was one of the earliest breweries in St. Paul, Minnesota. Founders Edward Drewry and George Scotten preferred ales instead of lagers. The brewery was located near Commercial Street and Hudson Avenue. North Star was eventually sold a few times and then was no more.
