For the sophisticated buyer! Finest quality made-to-order evening black overcoat by American designer Norman Ambrose. Mr. Ambrose is reknown for his "exquisitely crafted women's made-to-order collection based and manufactured in New York". Founded 2008. The fabric and workmanship is top of the line. Pockets are decorative. Four front buttons.  My amateur photos do not even begin to do it justice. It is STUNNING in real life, looking so lux ans feels so wonderful to the touch. MADE IN THE USA.

For sale on behalf of the original owner (a family member of mine), purchased from a truck show at Saks made to order to customer's exact measurements. High-end craftsmanship. The owner's body type was tall, slight rounded shoulders and large through the bust. It pains me to have to sell such an amazing coat, but I wear a 6/8 and it simply is too big for me. My loss is your gain.

SIZE: Made to measure, estimated size LARGE (12/14/16 range). The figures below are approximate.
         Front across the bust (arm pit to arm pit): Approximately 23"
         Shoulder (seam to seam) across the back: Approximately 17"
         Length down the back from bottom of collar: Approximately 37 1/2"
         Sleeve length (shoulder seam to bottom edge): About 25"



Fabric: Unmarked. Extremely fine quality, believed to be cashmere. Luxurious look and feel. Silk lining.

Condition: Pre-owned. Minimal to no use. No problems. Signs of use, if any, will be minimal.

About the Designer and his collections (from his website):

"Ambrose’s life has been dedicated to the refinement of his craft and execution of detail since the early age of 12 when he started sketching clothes. Driven to develop and refine these skills, Norman moved to New York at 22. Finding the guidance of two skilled masters; one a pattern cutter whom had worked under Cristobal Balenciaga, the other a tailor from Bill Blass, Ambrose engineered the foundation to the house he has built since creating his label at 25. 

Based and manufactured in New York, the collection most notably known for it's couture embellishments and superior construction is sold through North America's top luxury retailers, namely Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue in the U.S. and Holt Renfrew in Canada. From the collections inception, Ambrose has garnered the attention of remarkable clients and celebrities including Mariska Hargitay, Brooke Shields, Jenna Ushkowitz, Judith Light, Brandy, and Mary Louise Parker to name a few.

Norman studied abroad at the Instituto Europeo di Design in Milan, Italy and is a graduate of the Academy of Art University of San Francisco. Ambrose was awarded the 2008 Gold Coast Fashion Award, and is recipient of the 2013 Rising Star Award for Women's Ready-to-Wear by the Fashion Group International.

Apprenticeship and University trained, Ambrose leads his atelier in materializing his vision as a composer does conducting a symphony. Working 4-6 months in advance; Norman commissions local technicians and craftspeople to create his finely crafted collection. Like the pigments upon a painters canvas, he develops custom fabrications, prints, colors, and embroideries to create the elements of which the collection is comprised".
