Silky Oak Grevillea

(Grevillea robusta)

An excellent variety, commonly known as Silky Oak grevillea.

This species is both very drought resistant and flood tolerant and should be suitable for gardens in dry climates. It is reported to tolerate a range of well-drained soils.

Makes an excellent hedge too!

Flowers

It is suitable for hot dry inland sites and is very frost hardy. Attracts birds as it is a very profuse flowerer. Outstanding specimen for any garden with vivid orange flowers, of which the native honey-eating birds are regular visitors.

Flowers anytime from August to November by producing very colourful brilliant orange toothbrush shaped flowers.

Other uses

An excellent bird attracting, screening plant, with showy flowers.
