Polystichum munitum is a fern in the Dryopteridaceae family. A native to western North America. It grows in many places such as southern Alaska to Mexico and even in Ireland. This one gets around you might say. It grows on average 3 feet tall and wide but can reach 4 feet tall. The dark green fronds can get almost 6 feet long creating an umbrella look. Grown for it's evergreen color and it's umbrella like shape. Great for a shady part of the garden. It prefers to grow in light shde to full shade. Zones 4-9
Germination
Sow spores on top of the medium and do not cover them. Keep moist in a bright spot and cover spores to create humidity. Try to keep temperatures around 80-90F. Germination is in 7-30 days.
