Attaching The Parachute
Where you mount the parachute will vary depending on the make and model of your car, the add-ons, center of gravity, weight, body type, and track conditions. A general rule of thumb is you want the parachute line to be on the same level as the top of your tires when the parachute is pulled outward parallel to the ground. On the DR10 for example, this line is achieved by mounting the parachute just below the rear wing, using the center wing bolt and a zip tie as a securement point. Use the provided carabiners, clips, zip ties, and/or keychain ring to fine tune your mounting point.
High Speed Deployments:
Modifications to the 24" or 30" parachutes are suggested for rigs trapping at 55+ MPH
We suggest cutting corners out of the chute and/or cutting a hole in the center of the chute as shown:
Important info on the Parachute Choke
Adjusting the choke is very important! Use the provided red or black shrink wrap as the choke. The choke needs to be adjusted based on how you want the parachute to function; if you want to use the chute on nearly every run as an aid to slowing down, bring the choke along the strings to nearly the end of the parachute, leaving just 3-4" of string exposed before the parachute begins. This will allow the parachute to open more gradually resulting in a smoother transition of force to the car and more stable deceleration. For faster trap speeds simply bring the choke higher and higher, up to just 1" of exposed string before the parachute. If you want to use the parachute for emergency situations only, to avoid hitting obstacles such as a wall or a parked car, adjust the choke to about half way up the string - this will make the parachute deploy quicker and will stop the car faster, but may lead to a rollover or abrupt/disrupted stop.

NOTE: This kit is designed to work with 3 or more channel transmitters as a 3rd channel switch is needed to activate the servo, this means the stock DR10 transmitter and any other cheap 2-channel transmitters WILL NOT work with this parachute kit. We can bundle these with a FlySky GT3B Transmitter & Receiver for $50 extra.
