HOW MUCH EPOXY DO I NEED?

Understanding Cloth weight: This cloth weighs 6 ounces per yard. Depending on the method of combining epoxy resin and carbon fiber, the amount you will need will vary.

WET LAY: To best visualize this method, think of how surf boards are made, the cloth is layed on top and the epoxy resin is poured on top, absorbed, then the excess is squeegeed off.  It's important to understand that the strongest and most flexible combination will use a 50/50 weight ratio. Meaning each for each 6 oz of cloth, you would want to use 6 oz of epoxy resin.  With a wet lay this is much more difficult because you need more than 6 oz to spread on top. Its recommended that you get at least double or even triple the weight of the cloth in resin for wet lays. The better you get at your technique, the less you epoxy resin you will use for production.

RESIN INFUSION: Resin infusion uses a vacuum, and seals the cloth in plastic. The resin is then sucked into the mold and plastic. This requires less resin to be used for production because it's directly injected into the carbon, and it fills the voids and gets absorbed by the fibers. Using a vacuum is the best way to get as close to the perfect 50/50 cloth to epoxy weight ratio. For this process you would use something close to 50/50 but a little bit more, which can be absorbed by the
