This is a CNC machined steel tool to be used with BMW part number 32106891974 to fix steering rack clunk.
This is a precision machined part, exact fit to the BMW aluminum threaded part that provides a preload to the rack mechanism.
This part will allow you to easily torque the aluminum threaded part to the BMW recommended torque of 55 to 70 N.m without the tool slipping.
This tool is plain finished low carbon steel, lightly oiled to prevent rusting. The BMW aluminum threaded part from service kit 32106891974 is used a check fixture to verify every part fits properly. (this isn't always true with other similar parts on eBay!)
The tool is machined with a 24mm hexagon to accommodate a socket and a torque wrench to allow tightening to the proper torque.
