The Ship: M.S. RANDFONTEIN (1958-1971) - 13,694 tons - Passenger-Cargo liner - 123 passengers in First Class, 166 in Tourist Class.

Route: Rotterdam to South African ports, via Madeira (Canary Isles) and Walvis Bay (S.W.Africa/Namibia).

Condition: Clean, and very collectable Real Photo Company postcard #4.3 !!!  NO tears,  NO rips, NO discolorations, NO wrinkles, NO foxing, and NO yellowing, with nice sharp corners. Shows slight edge wear. Fine to Excellent condition for vintage 60+ year-old official Company postcard.

Reverse side: of this postcard is clean and fresh, with NO blemishes of any kind.

THE COVER: has manuscript "DRUKWERK" ("PRINTED MATTER") in pencil at the top -- posted on arrival in Port Elizabeth on 29 SEP 1959 -- Ship's mark "HOLLAND - AFRIKA LIJN / date / M.s."Jagersfontein" in purple ink -- Port Elizabeth postmark (same day) has date partly obscured by pencil notation -- addressed to Philadelphia -- cover is unsealed.

Dutch stamp specialists: the 1c van Krimpen Numeral stamp (pair + single) is the dark red printing, not the original 1946 printing.  The 5c orange is from 1953.

               These are a scarce vintage postcard and cover in fine condition. Always stored smoke-free. Makes a great page together in any display!
