Throughout history, people have been fascinated by macaws and their feathers,
most notably in pre-Columbian civilizations like the Inca, Wari', and Nazca.
Due to their vivid hues,
macaw feathers were highly sought after and were obtained through trade and hunting.
At both ceremonial and burial locations,
feathers were frequently utilized as ornaments.
Feathers were utilized by South American weavers to make a variety of textiles,
most notably feathered panels and tabards.
Many of these items have started to deteriorate over time as a result of the delicate nature of the feathers.
