This beautiful estate find measures 4 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" in diameter. It was created by Norma L. Mylett, who was married to Judge Robert E. Mylett. She was born circa 1924 and has created several pieces of art. The glazing on the piece is interesting, because it is a warm brown to the eye and it shows up green in the images. The farm scene is representative of farms from early America, including a "Mail Pouch" barn. The pottery is hand thrown, probably by a person named Joe, as that name is inscribed on the bottom. It's nicely done, and will be a wonderful addition to your folk art collection.

Norma Mylett was also the mother of Jeffery Martin "Jeff" Mylett, who was an actor, composer and accomplished musician. Jeff made his New York debut in the off-broadway production of Godspell. Jeff not only appeared on stage with the Godspell cast, but also appeared on the Today, Tonight, and Merv Griffin television shows with them. He had several roles in Hollywood films, continued theater work and eventual became a follower of Meher Baba before he died at an early age of AIDS.
