James Charles Cruden had a professional photographic studio in 182 Pitt St, Sydney in the early 1900's. 
He was born in 1871, in Victoria, Australia as the son of William Cruden and Elizabeth Livingstone. He married Edith Jessie Sim in 1894, in Victoria, Australia. He died in 1945, in Ashfield, New South Wales, Australia, at the age of 74.
