In the 80's the most exciting present you could get as a teen was a huge bag of tokens from Aladdin's Castle! When the time came to play the atmosphere was a thrilling mix of teens, lights and sounds. Watching the workers (none of them a lick over 20) who had those keys to all the games and just hanging out in that atmosphere made me think it was the greatest job in the world. Always a faint smell of cigarettes lingering in the air while lining the deck of Street Fighter 2 or Mortal Kombat with tokens taking on all who would dare! Bringing anger and heart-pounding joy against strangers and friends alike! Now, decades later I seem to bring up the memories of enjoyment I had back then and with each mall I visited that had a Aladdin's Castle in it which came each with different experiences, games and kids. It was a great time for arcades before the time of the smartphones but hopefully places like Round-One and Dave & Busters can bring back some nostalgia experienced although games are far from just a simple quarter anymore.
