Albert King's Lucy

Purchased in the late 1950s, the original Lucy named after Lucille Ball was a right-handed 1958 Gibson Flying V and was the guitar Albert
used on most of his recordings for Stax Records. It was retired to make way for the second Lucy shown here.
Built by luthier Dan Erlewine, this second Lucy is a left-handed V made from 125-year old black walnut.
Delivered in May 1972, it has Albert’s name inlaid on the fretboard and Lucy on the head.

The illustration on this card was hand drawn by George Morgan and is not a photograph.
