Frentech Titanium bleed screws are manufactured in Aerospace space Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V Titanium alloy
Titanium is one of the strongest and most durable metals on the planet, has the highest strength to density ratio of any metallic element, is up to 40% lighter compared with steel and is naturally resistant to rust and corrosion.
Cut threads vs. rolled threads
Reliability
Rolled threads have an increased ability to resist fatigue, the rolling process leaves threads with smooth burnished roots and flanks, free from tears or chatter which are often starting points for fatigue related failures seen with cut threads.
Strength
Rolled threads provide increased part strength; rolled parts have a root strength that can be 20% to 30% greater than cut threads. Tensile strength can be as much as 10% greater and shear strength is also increased.
Quality
The process of thread rolling ensures a high degree of consistency and quality, whilst ensuring the last part produced will be as perfect as the first. Applications requiring a high degree of tolerance and uniformity are better suited to rolling than cutting.
Rolled threads - Are compacted and burnished during threading, making them less prone to fatigue
Cut threads - Torn away particles wear down and loosen over time
