What a masterwork of stitching and placement of fabrics this is-It really tells a wonderful story.  The detail in the stitching is wonderful, made from deep rich cottons, silks velvets and brocade fabrics.  This quilt features many unique hand embroidered stitches.      

This quilt was carefully stored away for many years-It appears as if it were never used, there are a couple areas where the silk is shattering (as shown).  The quilt is backed with several pieced cotton fabrics, it is hand tied.  This quilt is truly beautiful-a real show stopper-excellent piece of history.
