An early 20th century Japanese carved wooden statue "Nio guardian" the god of literature, The surly- looking on the head of a large fish becoming a dragon. Finely carved boxwood with Designed (very detailed carving). Overall in very fine condition. There is a little crack at the bottom(normal consider age wears).
