Vintage Mid Century Christmas Man & Woman Figurines Made in Japan. A3

The male figurine is about 3-3/4" high and the female about 3-1/4". They are a well dressed couple, perhaps on their way to a gathering celebrating the holiday season.

Each had a vintage hairpin slid under their clothing to prop them upright.

Their clothes are made of fabric. She is wearing a shawl type wrap around, under which she has a dress with a wide belt. He sports his finest top hat and tails. The top hat is not fabric, but part of the figure.

They're not made of porcelain. I don't know what the material is precisely, but I think it's some sort of early plastic or composite. Each is signed JAPAN under one shoe.
