Description:

"Hapoel" a sports organization, connected to the General Federation of Labour, was founded in Haifa in 1924. "Hapoel" was a pioneer in water sports, and "Hapoel Units" fulfilled defense roles. "Hapoel" has hundreds of branches throughout the country, many of them in immigration settlements and in workers villages.

The first National Congress took place in 1928. At later congresses Labour sports organizations from abroad participated. The 11th Congress took place in 1979.


Obverse:

On the medal's obverse appears the emblem of the 11th Hapoel Games sand the inscription: "Hapoel Games". The number "11" is stylized as a hurdle, symbolizing athletics. On the rim is the Hebrew, Arabic and English inscription: "Many and Medalists", a motto characteristic of popular sports' organizations.


Reverse:

The reverse depicts athletes engaged in various sports activities and a citation from Isaiah (40:31), "They shall run and not be weary". The English tanslation appears on the bottom rim.


Edge:

The emblem of the IGCMC , I.G.C.M.C in Hebrew and English and Serial number.
