There were four different obverse dies for the 2003 Liberty Dollar, with these featuring the Type I Small E design. This variety shares many similarities with the Type III; however, the distance between the tip of the crown and the neck is longer, the rim is thinner, and when tilted, there appears to be a gap in the O of GOD. According to the Liberty Dollar Encyclopedia, the highest known private sale of this variety was $544 back in 2012. While the total mintage is unknown, it is estimated that only a couple thousand were ever issued. This is a stock item, and the one pictured may not be the one you receive. Some may display light milky spotting and/or fingerprints. A rare addition to any buyer’s collection!
