This stunning mid century modern twin bulb wall light fixture from the 1960s. The front panel is made from textured crystalline resin plexiglass held in place by four modernist brass screw on posts. There is a wrap around piece of ridged plastic which serves as a diffuser on whichever side needs it. Its all attached to an aluminium back plate which has a hole for the wiring and screw holes  for attaching it to the wall. It could of course be mounted either way up, landscape or portrait style.

Superbly French but also with quintessential Mid Century atomic style, from an era when light and futuristic design were the epitome of post-war era home style. It will look stunning in any well designed room providing a point of interest even in daylight when it is not lit up.

The ideal gift for anyone with a love of mid-century modern style and a fantastic decorators piece. Ideal for any room and it could be the perfect prop for a 1960s period theatrical production.

In VERY GOOD vintage condition with only minor signs of age and points to note: Over the years it has been used with old style light bulbs which can get very hot and there is a little bulge when one of the bulbs has begun to melt and cause a slight bulge in the front panel. The bulbs I photographed it with were in it when I bought it and one of them is a higher wattage than the other, I suspect this is the bulb which caused the damage. I won't be including them anyway since this kind of bulb is inefficient and too delicate to survive shipping. As I mention above, it would be much better with modern low energy bulbs. Please see ALL photos and remember they are over 50 years old and have been pre-owned and pre-loved.

As you can see it is currently in working order, though it does have the original wiring. You will need either a professional electrician or a confident DIYer to fix this in your desired location, it will be up to them to get them working there. If you have any concerns about safety you should get it professionally tested after fitting too. It was designed to be used with a European 220/240 volt domestic power circuit, so if you are from a country with 120 volt mains (like USA for example) it might need them adapting. 

It has two lightbulbs inside so it will provide a good amount of light, and since they are hidden it will be suitable for modern low energy bulbs.  Please remember when looking at the photos that I have it wired to a cable and plugged into a socket, just to demonstrate it to you, the wires won't show when it is connected to wiring in a wall. It takes two standard small E14 Edison screw cap bulbs (not included) and will need a slim head size to fit comfortably. The ones in the photos are standard size candle bulbs.
