Antique Staffordshire Figurine Group Spill Dog Tray c 1860.

Wonderful antique sculpture from the Staffordshire group. Sculpture features a gentleman and an Irish Setter dog on a rocky mound before a tree trunk opening into a spill vase, titled to the base DOG TRAY.

The title "Dog Tray" was inspired by "Tray" - the name of a dog in the poem "Harper" circa 1836, by Victorian Scottish poet Thomas Campbell - "old dog Tray's ever faithful". This piece has many fine hand-painted details.

Measures approximately 12.5 inches tall and 8.5 inches wide.

Generally in very good condition, one repair to top of man's hat, crazing in glaze.

Very impressive and well crafted!
