This  fuel pump  bolts on to the side of the engine and pulls the fuel from the tank, through the filter to the injector pump. If your engine is lacking power at higher engine speeds then it could be that your lift pump has failed as the engine is being starved of fuel. This pump has a manual pumping lever to prime the fuel system after fitting a new filter.
