Offered are FOUR tyres, specifically made to fit the Mamod Seam Rollers SR1 and SR1A front AND rear rollers. They are made from re enforced ribbed rubber. They are hard wearing, easy to clean and have a single glued joint in each tyre. The joint is blackened to disguise it. They have a straight ribbed pattern PLUS four starlocks, (over £4 worth).

Advantages.

* The ribbing is aligned so they will accept the drive band on the rear wheel without it slipping off.

* If the drive band is a little old or stretched, by slightly increasing the diameter of the wheel, they will give an old drive band a new lease of life. 

* They enhance the look of an engine enormously. 

* They provide better grip on a slippery surface and when towing.

* They cover up, corroded or pitted wheels. 

* The engine is quieter to run.

*  They are easy to fit permanently or temporarily.

* They enhance the value of a machine.

* If the engine is left unused with the drive band on, it will not become corroded into the wheel groove.

Disadvantages.

* The front rollers need to be removed. Because this will destroy the starlocks a FULL set of four chrome domed starlocks are included (also sold separately).

Fitting

* Remove the drive band.

* Cut off the existing starlocks and remove the wheels (front essential, rear optional).

* Smear the wheels with a little washing up liquid..Ease on the tyres avoiding stretching on the joint as much as possible.  They are a tight fit.

* To fit the new starlocks I recommend laying the starlock on a flat, semi hard surface (toweling) with the chrome face downwards. Position the axle in the center of the star and press hard from the opposite end of the axle. If you try to knock them on directly with a hammer you may distort them and damage the chrome.

* Make a cup of tea and admire.
