Frank Benson loved painting women. His paintings from the early twentieth
century are a looking glass into the lifestyle of the women he knew in his life
and their activities.  His style is best summed up as "enchanting" and his works
are a breath of fresh air to gaze upon and transport one back to idyllic times
of contentment and relaxation.

"Rainy Day" is a wonderfully cozy work which features a young lady reading in a
wicker chair near a warm hearth  on a rainy day.  You can practically hear the
crackling of the fire and the pitter-patter of rain drops on the roof.
It's truly one of the great twentieth century artworks and this mid century print
is a rare find. The age wear to the print and frame give an absolutely superb
"vintage" decor touch to any interior.
