Each one of these machinists scrapers are hand made and finished, being of the same design that I use in my own workshop for scraping cast iron and steel parts, and are fitted with custom turned handles in a choice of Beech or Sapele.

There is a choice of either straight handles, or mushroom handles which are more suited to hip/belly scraping.

Available in three sizes, 295mm, 450mm or 650mm in length for straight handles, or 385mm and 575mm for the mushroom handles. 

The shaft is 20mm wide and the steel is sized to offer the right combination of stiffness for control and enough flex to reduce fatigue. 

Each scraper is supplied with a 20x30x2mm carbide scraper insert with a 60mm nose radius.

I can also supply 30x30mm inserts with a 140mm radius for really hogging out material. 

While inserts are supplied with a nose radius they will require bevelling and honing. This can be done with a regular grinding wheel, but the best results are achieved with a diamond wheel and hone. If you require a particular nose radius or bevel, or you need help in specifying an insert please get in touch.
