This superb ring is set with a GIA-certificated, natural, earth-mined pear-shape diamond. It weighs 0.51 carat.
This diamond is of superb natural fancy yellow. This miraculous colour comes entirely from nature, is permanent and unique to this very diamond. With natural coloured diamonds, the most important factor in determining its worth is its colour. And colour is divided into two parts. First is its basic hue, which is yellow in this diamond. Second is the saturation / intensity of colour, which is fancy in this diamond. Fancy is 5 out of a possible 9 in the colour saturation scale.
We have not graded this diamond's clarity, but we give it an approximate / estimated grade of VS1 clarity. (Please see chart below for further information on colour and clarity).
As a pear-shape diamond, it combines the best elements of round brilliant, oval and marquise diamonds - all rolled into one, gorgeous stone. A pear-shape diamond is also particularly flattering to wide, short or average-length fingers.
This ring comes complete with a certificate from the world-renowned Gemmological Institute of America. When buying a natural fancy coloured diamond, it is important to obtain a diamond report from a reputable gemmological grading laboratory. This is partly because they will determine the diamond's natural colour origin. In other words, they will confirm that it is actually a natural fancy coloured diamond, as opposed to a colour-enhanced diamond.
A diamond certificate from GIA means your diamond has been subjected to highly scientific evaluation, by a distinguished team of gemmologists, using state-of-the-art instrumentation and computer technology, to ensure the most accurate assessment of the diamond you are buying. Their certificate states that the diamond is of natural fancy yellow colour.
The crown is also set with a cluster of round brilliant-cut diamonds, weighing a total of 0.75 carat. These diamonds are of approximate G / VS quality. They make a perfectly beautiful frame for the central diamond.
The shank is heavily-made of solid, fully-hallmarked, rich 18ct white gold, to best complement the the diamonds. The ring is currently UK size M (USA size 6 1/2), but could easily be re-sized to fit, if necessary.
