This offering is for a
wonderful antique early to mid 19th century hand carved wooden scoop.
The scoop is likely Native American Indian and the form is unusual. The
scoop measures app. 8.25" in overall length and the wood appears to be
ash. The scoop was carved from one piece of wood and with a small well
carved hook. The scoop has only half a bowl and while there is a very
good chance it was designed this way there is also a chance that half of
the bowl was removed at some point, possibly due to damage. If so it
was a very very long time ago. The wood was never varnished and is has a
wonderful mellow patina. There is a bit of minor wear that includes a
very small tight .5" crack in the back edge of the bowl near the handle.
Otherwise, there is typical minor wear from use but no breaks, cracks
or repairs. The buyer will pay a fixed amount of $ 8.00
for Standard Mail and we will include delivery confirmation, tracking,
at no additional cost.
