The second scan shows the front of the card which is just under 6" wide long and just over 4" wide.
HISTORIC TREASURE of WW2!

This a very rare commemorative art card issued in 1943 at the height of WW2 marking the 4th Anniversary
of the Establishment of the Generalgouvernement (Third Reich Administration) in Occupied Poland. We acquired it directly from the estate of the original owner who saved it for many decades.

The stamp on back honors the Krakau (now Krakow) District and is postmarked on the very first day it was issued. The poignant art on the front captures a German solider carrying his wounded comrade in the heat of battle. The inscription reads: "You are not the measure. It is the FRONT!"  Truly spectacular large size original First Day Card postmarked on the 4th Anniversary of the Generalgouvernement!

Flawless condition - it is seldom found as nice as this!!
