A 100 year old ceiling mount schoolhouse / industrial light 6 inch shade holder fully restored and refinished with its original and working  McGill- Levolier pull chain on / off switch.  This listing is for one (1) antique fixture.  There are a total of 5 identical fixtures available by selecting any additional fixtures desired in the quantity box.

The solid brass fixture(s) were removed form a building built in 1902 before demolition.  These were purchased from the demolition company and are being restored and offered in this listing as they are finished.  There are 5 currently available as restored. Please see my last photos that show the old fixtures as found prior to restoration.

The shade fitter measures 6 1/8 inches in inside diameter for globes with 6 inch fitter rings.  No globe is included.  There are several of my complete schoolhouse lights, each including one of these fixtures, in my other items for sale.

Restoration involved complete cleaning, dirt and exterior oxidation removed, old sockets removed and replaced with new old style porcelain sockets for safety and reliability reasons.  The original McGill "Levolier"  pull chain switches were restored, rewired, tested and reinstalled. The exterior of each fixture was refinished in metallic finishes that most closely matched the  bronze color of the fixtures when found.

A threaded rod was incorporated into each fixture in the event the installer wishes to mount the fixture by adding a cross bar (not included).  The mounting screw holes in the rim of the fixture are 5 7/8 in. on center.  From top rim to the bottom rim the holder measures 6 1/4 in. tall.

The pull chain can be lengthened if desired.  The frequent use of 100 year old switches is not recommended.  You never know long they will continue to work.  It is recommended the switch be clicked on and then a wall switch be used for operation after that.

Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended.  Please review the photos and ask any questions prior to purchasing an item.
